Permit & Inspection Fees
All City Licenses must be renewed annually. Construction, Electrical, and Plumbing Licenses are always renewed by January 1. The other licenses are renewed based on the date the license was first awarded. Please contact Code Enforcement Officer Malcolm Grier with any questions on permits and applications at 785-742-7168. Electrical Permits: $10.00 for all work in excess of $1,000 in material and labor costs.
Electrical Inspections: $10.00 for initial inspection, $5.00 for subsequent inspections
Plumbing Permits: $10.00 for all work in excess of $1,000 in material and labor costs.
After Hours Inspection: $30.00 per hour with a minimum two hour charge.
Construction Plan Review: fees will be equal to the cost billed to the City of Hiawatha for the completion of the work.
