Police Department
The police department is located at 413 Oregon in the Law Enforcement Center. Evans Woehlecke is the Chief of Police, and Jeanette Ward is the Administrative Assistant. In addition to the Chief, there are five full-time officers (Sgt. Laura Tollefson, Officers Janet Jeffery, Gary Holloway, Robert Parker and Mike Thompson), and currently two active reserve officers (Mike Nigh and George “Ty” Tyler). Tillie Bailey serves as the part time office assistant.
The administrative office of the police department is open from 8 a.m. – noon; 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F. The phone number is 742-2156. Dispatch for the police department is conducted through the Brown County Sheriff’s Office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The phone number is 742-2155/742-7125 or emergency 9-1-1.
The police department conducts Motor Vehicle Examinations (MVE’s) every Wednesday from 8-12; 1-3 and every Thursday and Friday from 8-12; 1-5. Child safety seat inspections and installations can be set up by contacting John Merchant at the Sheriff's Office 742-7125.
