SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MINUTES

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2005

7:20 P.M.

HIAWATHA CITY HALL

1.         Call to Order

The Hiawatha City Commission met in special session February 7, 2006 at 7:25 p.m. at City Hall with Mayor Trant, Com. Collins, Com. Shamburg, Com. Schmitt and Com. Gamble in attendance.

2.         Discussion of non-elected personnel, city clerk interviews.

A motion was made by Com. Schmitt, second by Com. Gamble, to recess into executive session for the purpose of discussion of non-elected personnel for approximately 25 minutes.  Motion carried; 5 ayes.  A city clerk applicant was invited in to the executive session.

At 8:10 p.m. a motion was made by Com. Shamburg, second by Com. Gamble, to extend the executive session by 10 minutes.  Motion carried; 5 ayes.

At 8:30 p.m. City clerk applicant left the executive session and Carl Slaugh, city administrator, was invited in.

At 9:03 p.m. Com. Collins departed the executive session.

At 9:11 p.m. Com. Shamburg made a motion, second by Com. Gamble, to return to open session.  Motion carried; 4 ayes.

A motion was made by Com. Shamburg, second by Com. Schmitt, to extend an offer of employment to a city clerk applicant.  Motion carried; 4 ayes.

3.         At 9:14 p.m. Com Shamburg made a motion, second by Com. Schmitt, to adjourn.   Motion carried; 4 ayes.
